MARY BETH CHAULK ASSISTANCE FUND

If you qualify for Jumpstart and/ or Kidsport funding and your child plays Recreational hockey, you can also apply for Whalers Registration Assistance through the Mary Beth Chaulk Fund by completing an MBC Financial assistance application  Dartmouth Whalers will cover the remaining registration balance if required after approval of Kidsport or Jumpstart funding.  The MBC Fund however does not cover the cost of conditioning camp and tryouts for competitive teams. Also applicants will not have the ability to play or tryout for Rep hockey under this program.  See below for more information on the MBC Fund.

The Dartmouth Whalers Minor Hockey Association is pleased to support the Mary-Beth Chaulk Registration Assistance Program with the following changes.  This fund was established in memory of an extraordinary young lady and Dartmouth Whalers Minor Hockey Association hockey player, Mary-Beth Chaulk who tragically lost her life in 2006.

The Mary-Beth Chaulk Registration Assistance Program Formally known as the Whalers Scholarship, works together with KidsSport Nova Scotia to help eligible children play recreational (C Level) hockey within the Dartmouth Whalers Association as funds are available.

All applicants must first apply and be accepted for Jumpstart, KidSport funding or other funding organizations.  Once approved, an application for MBC fund can be completed and submitted with the Jumpstart, Kidsport or Lace'em up approval confirmation.

Players and teams are encouraged to contribute to the fund through direct contributions at the time of fall registration, contributions of excess team funds at the end of season and supporting special events sanctioned by the Whalers supporting the fund.

Thank you for your kindness and contributions!
