Before You Register

Players with an outstanding balance from the 2025–2026 season will not be able to register until balances are paid.
Some divisions may fill quickly. Early registration is strongly encouraged.

Registration Method

Dartmouth Whalers Minor Hockey Association uses GrayJay Pay as the only registration method.

Returning Dartmouth Whalers Players

Returning players can register directly through GrayJay Pay using the registration link above.

New to the Dartmouth Whalers:

1. Transfers

If you have recently moved into the area, to begin the registration process you will need to complete the Transfer Form.

Once the transfer is complete, please proceed with the following steps:

Step 1: Create a GrayJay Pay account https://grayjaypay.ca/user/register/
Step 2: Add your player as a family member to your account. Please do not create the account under your player's name.
Step 3: Add Dartmouth Whalers Minor Hockey Association under the My Organizations tab.
Step 4: On the players Hockey Canada Registry (HCR) account, Proof of Players birthdate, and a Government issued proof of address will need to be uploaded such as:
- Parent/Guardian Driver’s License (address verification); and
- Players proof of birthdate (birth certificate or passport).
Step 5: Proceed to Registration.

2. New to Hockey

Step 1: Players new to hockey must first create a Hockey Canada Registry (HCR) profile before registering in GrayJay.
- Create your HCR account: HERE
- The following documents will need to be uploaded on the players HCR profile:
  - Player's Birth Certificate (age verification); and
  - Parent/Guardian Driver’s License or Government issued ID (address verification).
Step 2: Create a GrayJay Pay account https://grayjaypay.ca/user/register/
Step 3: Add your player as a family member to your account. Please do not create the account under your player's name.
Step 4: Add Dartmouth Whalers Minor Hockey Association under the My Organizations tab.
Step 5: Proceed to Registration.

U15 Major / High School / U16 AAA / U18 Major Tryouts

If your player is planning to try out for a non-DWMHA team, we still encourage you to register with Dartmouth Whalers.

To do this:

This ensures your player remains eligible should they not secure a position elsewhere.

U18 Overage Player Applications

U18 players who are overage but still attending high school may be eligible to apply.

To apply, please:

Contact the Registrar to request the overage application form
Provide a letter from your school confirming enrollment for the 2026–2027 school year
Complete and submit the overage application form

The Hockey Canada Registry (HCR) remains the source for:

Registration Review

All registrations are reviewed and approved by the Association Registrar.

If a registered player is determined to reside outside the DWMHA boundary, parents will be notified and registration will be cancelled and refunded.
