DARTMOUTH WHALERS / SEDMHA DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM - 2011-2012 SEASON
Exciting Announcement – Whalers / SEDMHA Development Program
The Dartmouth Whalers are excited to announce the launch of the Dartmouth Whalers / SEDMHA Development Program. We are truly grateful that our friends at SEDMHA have agreed to sponsor a large portion of our development program this year.
We are also pleased to announce that we will be having Keifer House, creator of Top Shelf Hockey Program deliver a program that will be second to none. We are also fortunate that Jennifer Grabmann will be delivering power skating to our Novice division.
The strategy for Keifer and Jennifer is simple – ask for input from Whalers coaches on what areas they would like to see worked on and then, based on observation, develop a game plan for each team.
Each of the Novice teams will receive 10 hours from Jennifer and the Novice Advance and all other Recreational and Rep teams will receive six hours of development with Keifer. Development may take the form of on ice or off ice sessions.
Once teams have used their allotted hours they have the option to make arrangements with Jennifer and Keifer and pay from their own team budgets.
HOW WILL THIS HAPPEN:
Paul Carroll, Whalers VP Novice will be scheduling in Jennifer and she will be out with your teams very soon.
Keifer will be reaching out to each team to arrange a schedule to come out. Team coaches / managers can also email Keifer directly if you want him to come out right away at firstname.lastname@example.org.
WHAT ABOUT THE GOALIES:
Dan MacDonald, Whalers Development Coordinator is organizing six goalie development sessions, instructed by Outlaw Goaltending. Dan will have Novice and Atom goalies on the ice for one hour and Pee Wee, Bantam and Midget for the second hour. The entire schedule will be available very soon – the first few sessions have already been communicated via email.
WEEKLY DEVELOPMENT ICE TIMES:
The Tuesday 4pm – 5pm at the Gray and the Wednesday 6am – 8am at the Dartmouth Sportsplex will continue and a schedule will be posted soon. We will continue to collect the $10 per player to help offset the costs of these sessions.
Development is everyone's responsibility. Please provide feedback to Dan MacDonald and your Divisional VP`S on what you would like to see.
Again, we want to thank SEDMHA for their support of the development of Whalers players. This is a fantastic opportunity for team and player progression – take full advantage of each opportunity to improve your game and enhance your love of this great game of hockey!
